During photosynthesis, a chemical creates the leaves’ green color. The chemical chlorophyll will overpower other colors to create the green leaf color that everyone knows.
Other chemicals in photosynthesis create the fall colors. The chemical xanthophyll creates yellow, and beta-carotene creates orange. These trees are located outside of the LA building.
Once the green color isn’t produced, the leaves will change. The leaves can be orange, yellow, red, or even purple.
WCC has a variety of color-changing leaves throughout the fall season. These trees are outside the LA building.
