At WCC

National Voter Registration Day
Sept. 28 from 9:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

From the website: “Celebrate National Voter Registration Day by registering to vote in the state of Michigan! The League of Women Voters will be onsite to help you navigate Michigan’s voter registration website, or complete a paper registration form. If you are unable to attend in-person, you may register to vote online at: https://wcc.turbovote.org”

Donut and Cider Day
Sept. 30 from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.

From the website: “Come and enjoy some donuts and cider in the 1st floor of Student Center!”

Washtenaw Community College Wolfpack Esports Week
From Oct. 3 at 12 a.m. to Oct. 10 at 12 a.m.

From the website: “WCC will have a first of its kind Esports Stream Week event to raise funds in support of University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital’s Therapeutic Gaming and Digital Technology program. There will be different levels of fundraising targets for us to reach to provide for certain programs / services for children at Mott to benefit from.”

Michigan Renaissance Festival
From Aug. 21 to Oct. 3, on Saturday & Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

From the website: “Take a time-travel adventure into the 16th century at the annual Michigan Renaissance Festival! Inside the turreted gates, visitors enjoy the sights and sounds of a 17-acre village, complete with building reproductions of Renaissance shops, taverns and a magnificent castle. Continuous entertainment takes place on the streets and on 17 themed stages.”

You Can Dance – Outside! with Heather Mitchell
Sept. 26 at 10:30 a.m.

From the website: “In this workshop, Heather Mitchell will lead participants in traditional West African Dance, as well as contemporary AfroBeat dance moves for beginners. Get ready to feel the heat and abundant joy of movement from the motherland! Movers of all levels are welcome.”

Harold Neal and Detroit African American Artists: 1945 through the Black Arts Movement
From Sept. 13 to Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

From the website: “The exhibition will be shown at the EMU Art Gallery from Monday, September 13 through Wednesday, October 20, 2021. A closing reception will take place on Sunday, October 17 from 1:30-4:30 pm. Harold Neal was an aficionado of jazz, especially Detroit jazz, and the Detroit Marion Hayden Trio will play at the opening. Hayden is one of the nation’s finest performers of the acoustic bass. In 2016, she received the prestigious Kresge Artist fellowship.”
